Alternative Preferences

I don't think my boss has the same musical tastes as me. Last week I was listening to The Alternate Routes when he came by and said something about it being hillbilly music. In their (and my) defense, I said that it's alternative rock. And today I was listening to Matthew Santos, who is more on the folk side of alternative, and he asked me, "Is he sick?"

Say what you will about my music preferences, I will not be deterred!

I've never heard of either of your selections!

Right now we have the oldies station playing in our office. I'm just relieved that it's not a station that feels obligated to play the gila song ever half hour. They play The Beatles, Beach Boys, and Elton John with such frequency and such unvarying selection that half the time I think we're listening to someone's playlist, but it's mostly ok anyhow.

gila?

That's about the only word in the song...the rest is music, but every now and again a deep voice sings/says "Gila"

I think you're listening to "Tequila" by The Champs and introduced to another generation in Pee Wee Herman's movie. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tequila_(song)
