Airy Diction

I was wrong. Did you hear that? I was wrong.

I gave someone a hard time the other day for saying "supposably," thinking it was the incorrect and nonexistant form of "supposedly." I looked it up, as I promised, and it actually exists!

The next word up for inspection? Grovel.

What does sopposably mean?

It seems like it's basically the same as supposedly...

sup·pose (verb):
3. to believe or assume as true; take for granted: It is supposed that his death was an accident.
[So the adverb form would be similar to...]

supposedly (adverb): believed or reputed to be the case

I love the word grovel. It provides a very satisfying mental image - in some contexts.
