My family and I sat down last night to watch The Office, as we normally do when it's a new episode. This one, entitled "Night Out," did not have the usual office setting. These episodes tend to be sub par.
Dad still thought it was a good episode, but he kept expressing his sadness that Ryan now seems to have a problem with drugs. I tried to tell him that Ryan's just a character; he doesn't really exist. But my dad is still disappointed with one of his favorites.
I guess I shouldn't make fun. I do get caught up in the Jim/Pam plot. I mean, it's Jim and Pam! Come on!

Wait, I thought it was Ryan's friend who had problems with drugs. That's why Michael told him to turn the friend into a mole to catch the drug dealers.
I don't normally watch The Office, but I've caught the past couple weeks and after last week's episode, this week's was definately dissapointing.
Yeah...last week's episode was, in my opinion, one of the best Office episodes ever. Tonight's wasn't very good. Even though Ryan is a jerk, his drug problem made me sad too. And even sadder was that Michael and Dwight were completely oblivious to his cry for help. Though I must say, Toby sort of putting the moves on Pam was priceless...sooo awkward.
Melody, I can't tell whether or not you're joking. But Ryan does have a drug problem...think about how he was acting at the club...and the fact that the friend told Michael and Dwight not to take Ryan to the hospital.
Pauline, I missed the bit at the club and the friend saying not to take him to the hospital. I just caught the part back at his apartment.
ok, that makes more sense. If you watch it again, you'll probably pick up on it. Actually, I didn't realize it was Ryan until I watched it a second time...because the first time I was trying to talk to a friend and watch at the same time...so I missed a lot.
And Emily, I forgot to say that it's cool that your family watches it together. My parents have a pretty low opinion of the Office. The first time I watched it at their house happened to be one of the more crude episodes. They don't believe me when I say that most episodes aren't nearly as risque.
Well, my brother doesn't watch when he's home. He thinks most forms of entertainment are stupid and a waste of time. A year ago I could get him to sit down w/ me and catch up on past episodes on dvd, but now he refuses.
