Thirty Bananas

This is what Dad bought last night. Mom and I looked at each other and asked him if he was going to eat them all. He said that we could have some, but, yes, he was planning on eating them.

Apparently someone told my dad that bananas are good for you, so he's eating bananas. Yep. Bananas.

And I thought that Mike ate a lot of bananas! I guess if he doesn't get them all ate before they turn brown, you can make lots of banana bread! :)

mmm...banana bread

Bananas have lots of potassium, which is good for you. Especially before/after exercising. I ran a 5K last Saturday, and I'm sort of OCD about eating a banana for breakfast before a race, so I had to go to the grocery store Friday night just to buy bananas.

Moral of this story: I'm probably just as strange as Emily's dad :)

Pauline--

But you didn't buy 30 at one time! That's the crazy thing.

Running a race... that sounds impressive.

yeah, I guess 30 bananas means he'll have to eat like, 3 a day to finish them before they turn brown. I love bananas, but that is far too much. Maybe he was assuming that half of them would be stolen by the rest of your family :)

eh, not that impressive. It's not like I'm "competitive" or anything, except against myself. Races are fun...you get to wear an official-looking number and timing chip, they stop traffic for you, there are often people along the sidelines and at the finish cheering for you, you get food (usually including bananas :)) afterwards, and a cool tshirt as a souvenir. :)

Well they are healthy, but I'm usually doing good if I can polish off five before they turn brown!

I've heard that overloading on potassium can be quite harmful. Might want to tell your dad to taker 'er e z........that said, I love b's as well. I try to have a healthy supply on hand. They have called b's a "power food" at one time.
